New York Knicks

Last night the Miami Heat reasserted themselves as the NBA alpha dogs by completing resounding victory over the New York Knicks.  The Knicks, who were playing their best basketball going into the playoffs were stifled by the Miami (specifically Lebron James) defense.  To win the Knicks would have needed a transcendant performance by their superstar Carmelo Anthony who does not have the pure talent to outplay the combination of James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh.  He turned in performances worthy of victories in games 4 and 5, but only won in the foremost contest.  Injuries killed the Knicks in the series, without Iman Shumpert and Baron Davis they were forced to rely on twelth man Toney Douglas and the ageless Mike Bibby.  Neither Tyson Chandler or Amare Stoudemire were healthy which severly hampered the one advantage the Knicks would have had over the heat, the frontcourt.  In the end, a one man New York Knicks could not beat the best team in the NBA.
